Political Communication Interest Group Call for Papers

111th Annual Convention of the Eastern Communication Association

April 1-5, 2020

Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD

Submission Deadline: October 15, 2019

The Political Communication Interest Group is now accepting paper and panel submissions for the 2020 Eastern Communication Association Annual Convention in Baltimore, MD. The theme for the 2020 Convention is “Harboring Innovation.”

The Political Communication Interest Group considers papers/panels that focus on all areas of political communication including, but not limited to, the communication activity of citizens, individual political figures, governmental institutions, the media, political campaigns, advocacy groups and social movements. This Interest Group recognizes and encourages research that addresses political communication topics across a variety of contexts and that employs a variety of research methodologies. For the 2020 ECA Conventions, we encourage papers and panels that advance the convention theme of “Harboring Innovation” within the contexts of political communication research, pedagogy and practice. Submissions on topics ranging from the 2020 elections to fact-checking mediated news coverage to innovations in teaching political communication are especially welcome, as are submissions that examine political communication in the context of our host city, Baltimore.

ECA uses Attendee Interactive to manage submissions and reviews. This is the same system used by the National Communication Association, so you may be familiar with it. The deadline for submissions remains the same, October 15, 2019 at 11:59 PM. You will be prompted to create a new User ID and Password to submit your work if you have not used Attendee Interactive in the past.
